Tryon,
North Carolina is situated in the foothills of the Blue Ridge
Mountains, elevation about 1100 feet, midway between Maine
and Florida. Tryon is conveniently located for people who
want to be within a day's drive of family and friends. One
half of the population of the United States is within 500
miles. Interstate 26 passes through the middle of Polk County
with easy access to I-85 and I-40. Asheville, North Carolina
is 50 miles to the north, Charlotte, North Carolina is 75
miles east, Atlanta, Georgia is only 188 miles SW on I-85,
and Spartanburg and Greenville, South Carolina are both within
a 35 minute drive.
Our mountains and valleys provide a variety of weather conditions. Tryon
finds itself in the "thermal belt", a meteorological phenomenon
that provides a pleasingly mild climate with a mean temperature of about
68 degrees. Tryon's winters are warmer with less inclement weather, and
our summers are cooler.

clubs in the Polk county and one in the adjoining county.
